How paying a Turkish supplier works
-
Tell the desk what you're paying. The amount, whether your supplier wants TRY or USD, and their bank details.
-
Agree your rate. The desk quotes a firm rate for the full amount, held for one hour.
-
Fund the payment in naira.
-
Your supplier is paid into their Turkish bank account, the same day for payments confirmed before the cut-off.
What you need from your Turkish supplier
- Their full legal company name, exactly as it appears on their bank account
- Their Turkish IBAN: it starts with "TR" and is 26 characters long
- Their bank's name and SWIFT/BIC code
- Whether they want to be paid in TRY or USD
- The proforma or commercial invoice you are paying
Check that the company name on the bank details matches the name on the invoice. A mismatch is a common sign of invoice fraud and a common reason for a returned payment.
Common questions
How long does a payment to Turkey take with Oneremit?
Payments to Turkey settle the same day when confirmed before the typical cut-off of 16:00–17:00 Istanbul time, which is 14:00–15:00 in Lagos.
Can I pay my Turkish supplier in lira or dollars?
Both. Oneremit pays Turkish suppliers in TRY or USD.
Is there a minimum amount?
The OTC desk handles payments from USD 500,000, with no maximum. Smaller payments can also be considered: tell us the amount and we'll confirm.
Are there hidden fees?
No. All fees are shown upfront before you confirm a payment.
What documents do I need?
Your company's incorporation documents, plus documentation supporting the specific transaction. The desk confirms exactly what is needed before you send.
How do I know my supplier's bank details are genuine?
Confirm the IBAN and company name with your supplier on a phone or video call, not only by email, especially if the details have changed. Fraudsters often send "updated bank details" from look-alike email addresses.
